Taste of Fame for budding divas

Singers are being invited to take part in a one-day music workshop with an award-winning ladies chorus.
Cromford choir DaleDiva is giving women the chance to have a go at four-part unaccompanied singing as part of the Wirksworth Festival.

Participants need to register for the event, Fame for a Day, and will be sent music and a learning CD for the song Fame.

Activities on the day will include vocal exercises and tuition.

After the workshop there will be an acappella show featuring DaleDiva followed by a performance from the workshop chorus.

The event takes place on September 6, at Anthony Gell School in Wirksworth from 10am to 5.45pm.

Registration costs £20 for adults and £15 for under 18s, singers must be over 11. The fee includes learning CD, music, tuition and drinks.

Tickets for the show are £3 for adults and children are free; doors open at 4.30pm.

The Wirksworth Festival starts next Friday and runs until September 21.
