Former members of the Territorial Army are being sought by the organisers of Derbyshire's major celebration of 100 years of Territorial Army (TA) service in the county.
On Saturday September 27 there will be a large display by current TA units, cadets organisations and many stalls covering "post service" charities such as the Royal British Legion.

The event will take place in Derby Market Place culminating in a large parade and a ceremony of Beating Retreat by a Royal Engineers band.

The organisers intend to put together a display of uniforms, badges, medals and photographs in the foyer of the Guildhall.

Anyone who can loan an item should contact Phil Giles on 01332 812067.

Just remember not to be "tricked" into taking the Queens "Shilling" as the "TA" used to be an Adult version of the Army cadets but nowdays recruits are shipped out to action in Afganistan and the like!
